Cast Iron S’mores Dip

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups mixed chocolate chips (semi-sweet, milk, or dark for a richer flavor)
  • 15 jumbo marshmallows, cut in half
  • Graham cracker squares, for dipping

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F and place an 8-inch cast iron skillet inside to warm up as the oven heats.   For a light Smokey treat put put to a hot pellet smoker for added flavor. 
  2. Once preheated, carefully remove the hot skillet using a pot holder. Add the butter and swirl it around to coat the bottom and sides evenly.
  3. Spread the chocolate chips in a single layer across the bottom of the skillet.
  4. Place the marshmallow halves on top of the chocolate, arranging them snugly so they cover the chocolate completely.
  5. Bake in the oven for 5 to 7 minutes, or until the marshmallows turn a golden brown and are toasted to your liking. Keep a close eye to prevent burning.
  6. Once done, take the skillet out using an oven mitt and let it cool for 5 minutes.
  7. Serve warm with graham crackers for dipping and enjoy this ooey-gooey treat!

This is a decadent dessert that you can avoid the flaming burnt marshmallows.
